I always believed I knew my why. I knew who I am and whose I am, and I never thought I needed titles, income, or structure to feel secure. But that belief was tested when I stepped outside the system. Without the familiar markers of identity and stability, I realised how much comfort I had drawn from them, even unintentionally. That season shifted my perspective and invited deeper reflection on where my confidence was truly anchored.
That reorientation, possibly breakdown and loss of connection, made me ask harder questions. I let go of the control and confidence in self and put all my trust in God when the path felt incomplete and unclear.
Some days I felt certain and grounded, other days I was full of doubt and second-guessed a lot. However slowly, something deeper began to form, not just around my work or identity, but around my foundation. One rooted in obedience, humility, and presence rather than performance.
So here’s the reflection I’m sitting with: when everything external gets quiet, the job, the role, the recognition, what do you reach for?
This season has reminded me that failure isn’t an ending, it’s an invitation. An invitation to rebuild honestly, live anchored, and show up faithfully even when the outcome isn’t visible yet.
